Before we reached the site, the “apostles of the environment” were waiting for us with three cameras rolling. When I stopped the ATV, one of them provoked us to violence in the style of the diversions practiced by the members of the #Rezist group: they film their “targets” while harassing them until they drive them out of their minds, after which they post on social networks edited little films, counterfeited in such a way as to put their victims in an unfavorable light before public opinion. The same modus operandi was used on 24.05.2015 (video 13.1).
Păun Gabriel began to misinform the authorities and public opinion regarding what happened at Râul Alb, immediately after he left the scene. He lied about his “accidental” presence at Râul Alb and he lied saying that he was beaten “instantly” when we reached the site. He transmitted mendacious messages regarding the events at Râul Alb and manipulated public opinion and the course of the investigation with counterfeit collages. But before anything, a few clarifications are necessary in connection with the footage made by Păun and named, also by him: “The attempted murder against the Agent Green investigator 24.05.2015”. On the video recording the time 17:52:00 appears, instead of 13:00:00, which is what it actually was when the events occurred. Now, Păun’s “job” – Agent Green – is precisely that of capturing information in flagrante delicto, which presupposes a rigorous dating of the footage. And certainly, Agent Green came with the intention (declared, moreover) of recording and broadcasting images from Râul Alb. Given that the times of his recordings do not coincide with reality, it is confirmed that the images were edited and tampered with a few hours later, with the obvious aim of preventing the truth from being found out.
The original version of the video recordings would have shown the true story of the “Scandal at Râul Alb,” and, during the day of 24 May 2015, the fugitives had at least three opportunities to hand over the cameras, if they were in good faith and wanted the truth to be found out: 1. They could have gone with the footage directly to the Police; 2. They could have gone with the policemen after the camera and after Păun; 3. They could have handed over the cameras at the first hearings before the prosecutor. Why did they not hand over those pieces of evidence “instantly”? This you will understand from what follows. By the time Păun’s hearing began (20:05), the “eco” agents
were already stars on the news. Suggestive are the titles of the collages that were posted on YouTube, on the evening of 24.05.2015, before the “activists” presented themselves at the hearings: “The attempted murder against the Agent Green investigator”– promoted by the NGO Agent Green, “Professional video analysis of the criminal ambush in the Retezat”– promoted by the NGO Nostra Silva, “Activists attacked, Râul Alb, Dinosaurs’ Geopark”– promoted by the NGO România Curată, “Shocking scenes in the Retezat”– promoted by Nostra Silva. In reality, it was proven that these collages are just some bait thrown to a gullible public, which had placed great hopes in the “defenders of the environment.” The titles demonstrate an abuse of trust taken cunningly to the extreme. It seems implausible, but until now no policeman, prosecutor, or judge has been interested in correctly establishing the chronological succession of the facts. No one asked the activists what they did minute by minute, from the commission of the criminal attack until they presented themselves at the hearings.
Through the Whirl of Mendacious Statements
Păun Gabriel, Tudor Tudoran (his lawyer), and Weidinger Gerit (the girlfriend from Austria) admit that they recovered the camera hidden in the bushes, but they contradict each other regarding the moment of recovery. The Austrian woman says that they took the camera before going to the hospital (the taxi episode), while lawyer Tudoran declares that this happened after presenting themselves at the Emergency Unit. In short, Gabriel Păun kept up his lies in contradiction with all the testimonies.
Gabriel Păun: “I, together with the lawyer Tudor Tudoran and Gerit, went to recover the camera, and after we found it we checked whether there were video recordings on it, and I saw a few images for one second and I also heard the audio recording associated with these images, convincing me that there is evidence. I did not watch the entire recording. At the police station, in my presence, the images recorded on the camera in question were not viewed; I do not know what the others did.” (…) “I do not know when the footage was handed over to the prosecutor, but I remember that on the evening of 24 May 2015 the footage reached a television station where I also went; it was already night, after the hearings at the Haţeg Police headquarters” (doc.1).
Lawyer Tudor Tudoran: “In my capacity as lawyer of the injured person Gabriel Păun, I accompanied him and his girlfriend, Gerit, an Austrian citizen, at the moment when they recovered the video camera that had been in Gerit’s possession and which the latter had hidden out of fear; I told them that it may contain evidence and that it must be recovered. After recovery, I asked them for the camera and I believe that I watched the entire recording together with the two of them, and the images were transferred, creating a copy on my laptop. On the same occasion I asked for and received from Gabriel Păun the card containing the images recorded by him with his phone’s camera, for the purpose of preserving the evidence. The recovery and examination of the images took place somewhere outside the locality, on the road from Haţeg toward Coroieşti, after Gabriel Păun had been to the hospital and before going to the police bodies. After that we went to the police headquarters in the town of Haţeg, where statements were taken from Gabriel Păun and his girlfriend, I assisting at the hearings. I remember that before the hearings I did not present the images to the investigators” (doc.2).
Weidinger Gerit: “The video camera that I used does not belong to me, it does not have a memory card, in the sense that everything that is filmed remains in the camera’s memory, and I point out that the recording was copied in electronic format, giving it also to lawyer TUDOR TUDORAN; I kept a copy for myself, and another copy I handed over to a German television. At this moment, on the video camera I no longer have that recording, which I deleted when I arrived in Austria.”
Alin Andrioni: “I remember that after the incident, during the inquiry, before the statements were taken, the first case prosecutor watched, together with Păun Gabriel, his lawyer, and the journalist, the recording made by the latter, and they saw the circumstances of the event, then they went outside and told me what had happened”(doc.3).
Evidence Given to the Investigators on Resumption
From their statements it clearly results that they did not manage to synchronize their lies, but we know for sure at least two things: 1. They viewed the footage; 2. They downloaded it onto a computer (at least one). And certainly it was processed, because otherwise its concealment cannot be explained. In the afternoon of 24 May 2015, the so-called environmentalists fabricated those mendacious collages that they posted on social networks to create the impression that we are the “brutes” of an aggression with international impact. The collages were sent to the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Hunedoara Tribunal, by e-mail a few days later, by Bogdan Tudor-Todoran.

Tele-Justice with a Prosecutor
During the hearings on the evening of the attempted murder, tele-justice was running on a television set located in the police headquarters, in competition with the official inquiry. According to the statement of the defendant Andrioni Alin, the prosecutor watched a recording together with Păun, his lawyer, and Weidinger Gerit, before taking the first statements. Strangely, the prosecutor and the criminal investigation bodies made no effort to have the named Andrioni Alin, Păun Gabriel, and Weidinger Gerit hand over the cameras and the original footage, which constituted essential means of evidence for finding out the truth.
The mendacious collages “dictated” the course of the investigation in favor of those who provoked the attack at Râul Alb. To make you understand, the original footage never reached the attempted murder file, but neither did the prosecutors ever request it. In the orders they issued, they did not ask the forensic experts to ascertain whether the films are authentic. The digital fingerprint shows unequivocally that the footage filed in the case had been edited.
